With his Irish roots based in Donegal and Belfast, Richie Travers has enjoyed listening and playing Irish music for over 50 years.

 After passing the audition with John Foley and the Diplomats at Kilgarriff’s in Jamaica Plain (MA) at age 16, Travers embarked on a rewarding career in music with performances in Europe, Canada and Australia. Richie has opened or accompanied such Irish musical legends as Tommy Makem, the Wolfetones, Dermot O’Brien, Noel Henry, Anna McGoldrick and Mary McGonigle on various cruise ships and music festivals in Chicago, Boston, Florida and New Jersey. Well-versed in many different types of Irish music, Richie performs regularly at the Irish Social Club in Boston and various pubs and restaurants throughout the Greater Boston area and Cape Cod, as well as special events for the Ireland Fund (Boston).
